The restoration of the Rietveld church ‘De Hoeksteen’ (1964) in Uithoorn started today. The hull and installations will be tackled, among other things, and the theatre hall will be returned to its original state. The restoration, made possible in part by Stichting Leefomgeving Schiphol and the BankGiro Loterij, should be completed in the autumn of 2020.

BOEi became the owner of the monumental church, designed by Gerrit Rietveld (1888 – 1964) in 2017. After a cultural repurposing, the church will once again play a central role in the Uithoorn community. The restoration is being carried out by Pronk Restauratie BV from Warmenhuizen. Restaurant Gerrit, which has recently been housed in the church hall, will remain open as much as possible during the restoration. To read more click the Link.
